Hi everyone. I'm sorry for posting in here when I haven't got a diagnosis yet and some of you are diagnosed and fighting etc. I'm just panicking. I've had cramps on the left side of my abdomen for about two months now and I've noticed tiny bits of bright red blood when going to the toilet about three times. I did a qfit test and the result was 12.4 so very weakly positive. The GP has referred me to the colorectal team however I was told this was done urgently over two weeks ago, chased it up today and the referral was never sent so it's only just been done today (GP surgery is useless 99% of the time). So I've got another two weeks to wait now when I've been spending hours a day worrying about this.
Suppose I'm just looking for similar stories? Anyone had a qfit result similar to this and it's been cancer? Not been cancer?
Thank you and hope everyone is doing well
Hi Emma27 Yes that’s a pretty low reading but it’s still important to get checked out. Only 1 in 10 colonoscopies results in a bowel cancer diagnosis and the reading could be caused by polyps, colitis, ibs, diverticulitis etc. I’ve attached a link to an old post showing a variety of readings but please bear in mind that everyone is an individual so try to keep an open mind?
