Hi everyone

I haven't been on the site for a while so thought I would give an update on my treatment. I have had my surgery to remove my tumour, they managed to remove all the cancer, of the 20 lymph nodes they removed only one showed signs of cancer which they have said is good news. I have been referred back to the oncologist to discuss if I need more chemo, I am hoping not but will just have to wait and see. I am hopeful that as I so much before surgery I may not need any more.

Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas and New Year.

  • Hi . Good to hear that surgery went well and all the cancer was removed - you are now cancer free yay! Generally chemo is suggested when there are infected lymph nodes but you will be able to chat about this with your oncologist. I had 2/17 lymph nodes affected but they were both close to the tumour so the oncologist said that made me relatively low risk and she wouldn’t be unduly concerned if I wasn’t well enough to have the follow up chemo.

As I understand it the cancer travels down the lymph nodes in a chain like sequence so you could ask if the node was close to the tumour?

Wishing you a merry Christmas too

    Take care
