Hiya i'm new here.
I'm Tyler a 54 year old man living in York. have just been diagnosed with bladder cancer and i'm booked in for TURBT procedure and immunotherapy.
They haven't done a biopsy and looked under the microscope as yet to identify the grade and stage . They saw 5 tumours. 4 are papillary and the other is CIS. My bloods are all in range. Awaiting results of CT scans.
It was shocking to hear but mentally/emotionally i think i'm doing OK. Kind of up and down. I think it will be better when i know more about what type grade as i'm worrying about unknows at the moment.
Thanks for listening - i'm heading to the coast with my dog now so will check in later.
Hi Tyler and a welcome to the group from me. We know how anxious the early days of uncertainty and not knowing can be. Just be aware that BC can be treated successfully. A TURBT procedure is a fairly straightforward op in the great scheme of things. Usually done in day surgery but prepare for an overnight just in case. The offending cells will be scraped away and sent for analysis. As Jane says when you get the following treatment plan, things tend to get slightly easier as you have something positive to focus on. Lots of support here going forward. Best wishes.
