Hi Folks
just thought I would say hello as have been reading peoples stories on and off over the last 18 months finding the stories both helpful and informative, have just decided to actually join
bit of background
got diagnosed with bladder cancer June 24
Had several Turbt opps with a course of BCG treatment which unfortunately wasn’t successful
it was suggested I had bladder and prostate removal with conduit surgery
which did frighten the life out of me , to be fair
had opp Monday the 14 April came home with my new friend on the 19th who is currently behaving himself all in all very straightforward
as not a person who can sit still for 5 mins finding the current forced rest a bit of a strain so one of the reasons I find myself writing this .
im male 64 , happy to share any information of what went on over the last 18 months
hope everyone is having a great Easter
Hi Keith. Welcome to our friendly forum. I had my diagnosis of T1G2/3 confirmed in June 24 as well but opted for surgery which took place in September last year. I have recovered well and now back in work! With regards to your particular symptom of feeling to pee and getting some flow, it is perfectly normal as the serous/lymph fluid in your pelvis after surgery would still come out via the normal route. Some people need to wear pads for some time. This will lessen over a period of weeks but can rarely last for a couple of months. You should’ve been given this info preop but there is nothing to be alarmed about. All the very best.
Thanks for the explanation, wasn’t overly worried, as ever day seems to be a school day over the last 18 months with not knowing what was going to happen next
just the worry of getting all the biopsies results back which will hopefully be fine
Hi Mark , thanks for asking
well it’s been 4 weeks since the opp and I seem to be feeling remarkably well , a lot better than I expected, still feeling tired but dosnt seem to stop me doing much but being sensible, no leaks or catastrophes well saying that did jump out of bed the other night totally forgot about night bag pipe and went flying
, but really nice not having to go to loo every 10 minutes. Other than that just waiting to see surgeon and hopefully biopsy results come back ok , certainly picked right time to be ok work , basking in the sunshine
cheers Keith
Hi Keith
Well that's good news, it does take a bit of getting used to glad you are adjusting well. Iam 12 weeks post op and going back to work on reduced hours at the end of the month looking forward to it. Keep us informed of your biopsy results and hope they are not too long in coming
Best wishes
Mark
