Hi, i'm new here. Just wanted to say hello. Here is my story so far ... 42yo female, mum of one.
Pain urinating and passed lots of blood and clots, lasted approx 10hrs, then stopped for 24hrs, started again lasting about 10hrs. Saw gp for suspected kidney stones.
Obvious blood in sample, tests showed blood but no infection. Prescribed painkillers and precautionary anti'bs, ultrasound requested.
Radiology sent ultrasound request back and said I needed to go on 2wk pathway.
Pathway appointment showed clear ultrasound of kidneys but cytoscopy showed an area of concern in my bladder, blood vessels, puckering and a lumpy patch.
Hospital admission for turbt, doc advised a tumour was removed, he suspects either an inverted papilloma or a small carcinoma. Im booked in to receive my results face to face on Monday 4th. I go on holiday on the 10th. Consultant has said il still be able to go.
Any advice would be welcome, in my head im expecting it to be cancer and just hoping its easily treatable as the internet shows inverted papillomas are 1-2% chance rare. Has anyone at this stage received a benign diagnosis? Or can let me know what to expect from the results meeting. I think I want to go by myself, but I dont know if thats a good idea.
Thanks for reading xx
Hi LLC and welcome to this friendly and supportive group. Your story will be familiar to many of us. We know how anxious the waiting for results can be. The not knowing and uncertainty can be the worst. When you find out what is going on, you will then have something positive to focus on. Always better to have someone with you at your meeting as they can overload you with info which you forget as soon as you walk out the door. Also ask to be copied in to the meeting notes. It is more easy to understand when in front of you. Lots of experience here to help you going forward. Best wishes.
Morning, I'm currently sat awaiting a call to relay my results. They weren't back in time for my appointment on Monday, but I've been told this morning that I will receive a call from my consultant today. It's just me and the cat at home today. I think I'm going to do some baking to keep busy.
I just needed to ramble to someone x
Hi LLC
We all have our fingers crossed for good news. Waiting for results is always hard.
Stay positive and enjoy your baking
Love Ade xx
Thank you all so much for your kind messages, I'm so incredibly lucky to have been told my results are not malignant. I've been told I have intersitial cystitis with Hunners lesions, it's a kind of chronic inflammatory disease and the lesions can present as ulcers or lesions that mimick cancerous growths. My sample needs further testing to find out which treatment options are likely to respond best.
I wish everyone the absolute best for the battles you may have ahead, may your journeys be kind. Thank you all so much xx
Hi LLC
I'm so relieved for you. I hope your medics are able to get you on appropriate treatment soon.
Love and hugs, Ade ️ xx
