Hi everyone,

I was diagnosed with bladder cancer a year ago. I’ve had chemo and radiotherapy, it finished last august. Since then I feel totally abandoned by doctors. Had 1 phone call and 1 Ct scan since that apparently didn’t show much. So I’m waiting for an “urgent cystoscopy”. Been waiting 4 weeks now. I live alone and just feel lost and in limbo

  • Hi and welcome to the group. Sorry to hear you feel abandoned by your medics.  When I had my radiotherapy a few years ago, I had 3 monthly flexible cystoscopies as well as regular consultations which was standard practice at the time, but covid has changed all that. Saying that, you should have had better follow up. I found that I always have to chase up appointments. You need to contact the urology waiting list office or urology secretary and check you are on the list. Coming up to a long weekend break now, so try this afternoon. Let us know. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

Hi Dottyj, and a warm welcome to the group from me too.As rily has said it’s best to chase these things yourself and the consultant’s secretary is a good place to start. The waiting is always hard and doubly so when you are on your own. I do hope something can be sorted for you very soon.

    Best wishes Luce x

  • Hello Dottyj, agree with the others that best to chase up for appointments. Covid has disrupted so much of our treatment, i heard nothing for nearly 9 months, but suddenly its all taken off again and all at short notice for a flexi and dynathermy for me.

    Hope you are sorted soon.
