Hi all,
I'm not working this week and my local is having a Macmillan coffee morning ( although I don't drink coffee lol). So I'm going to pop along, to show my support.
I didn't bake a cake as I don't want to poison anyone, but I'm thinking a slice of cake is on the menu for me this morning.
I don't eat chocolate, and I don't really eat cake anymore, but what cake to choose.
Lemon drizzle maybe? Classic victoria sponge, a muffin maybe.. I do like a Bakewell tart..
Anyhow what would you guy's go for?
Hi9 BFG, I love cake BUT only homemade cakes, and I am quite disciplined about how often and how much! Shop bought cakes are yuk in general. Sometimes you get a small bakers who bakes like home-cooking, we had one in my nearest town (4 miles) but sadly it has closed. I was devastated. During my BCG treatment I felt I deserved a treat so I used to bulk buy and pop them in my freezer. Most cakes freeze really well. I like a lemon sponge but I wouldn't say no to coffee walnut. I do make dark chocolate and beetroot muffins myself sometime. They are pretty yum. xx
Lemon drizzle all the way although living in Derbyshire I should really say Bakewell tart all the way. Maybe a piece of each would have been the way forward. who says you can't have your cake and eat it, I certainly do when I have some cake.

I also hate autocorrect and hope people can make sense out of my posts when it changes half the words I type.
Hi Hero
I know what you mean with shop or mass produced cakes. They seem to be getting worse also.
You definitely deserve a treat after BCG..
Sticky toffee pudding is also up there for me, but I really don't have a sweet tooth, but every now and then I do fancy a desert or cake etc.
Sorry to hear your allergic to dates though.
My other half likes to bake occasionally, but I would certainly not allow strangers to try anything I baked, well not without signing a waiver before hand.
