Hello Angela, I’m taking a moment to wish you well with your scan tomorrow. I had 2/3 in the early times of my treatment. Just another thing to worry about! I’m sure everything will be fine. Garviv X

Hi all, whilst of course wishing everyone a super speedy feedback from our scans I can't help noticing (today's Guardian) that the NHS paid private firms £216m to read X-rays and scans because we haven't enough radiologists.
Plus, despite that, the NHS 'still failed to read 976,000 X-rays and CT and MRI scans results within its one-month target...' (not clear if that's over the past year or past 12 months.)
Apparently we have a 30% shortfall of radiologists (same article).
'The updated version of the NHS workplace for England, due this summer, will give the service the personnel it needs to cope with demand...' says the DHSC. (The article doesn't say by when).
I can't remember in which group we had the most recent discussion of how long it takes to get results but those of us who get them within a month must be very fortunate, given the above.
I'm putting this up not to complain but to help us all condition our expectations. And as I said previously, when doctors have needed an urgent response (rather than a regular check) they have done it almost immediately.
All the best,
