Hello all,
Went to my local Maggies today for “an introduction to mindfulness “
I found it difficult to stop my mind from drifting from what I should have been focusing on, but the lady taking the class did say that that was normal,
it does take time and practice to get something out of it but I found it useful…
Going to go once a week and practice at home…
hope you’re all well…
love to all
Nigel xx
nice one nigel. it is tricky to master at first because our thoughts keep drifting . even when you have been doing it a while that still happens. the trick i have found is not to let that bother me, just gently bring the focus back . I use breathing in through my nose as my focus. my son has tried it but he gave up because “it didnt work “ for him. I think he wants instant results but it does take practice. Good luck with it friend and dont be too bothered if it doesnt seem to be doing anything straight away , it is good when it works x
Much love Angela x
Hi Nigel,
Great news that your trying new things.
I find mindfulness very difficult, brain is always wandering. I understand it takes a while but I just ended up getting frustrated.
I do breathing exercises etc and this does help my BP when I get check ups.
I've had counseling sone years ago, and CBT sessions which helped turn my life around at the time.
Wishing you all the best with your mindfulness I'm sure you'll get there.
Take care.
Trevor
