Evening all, I find that writing it down helps so thank you in advance….

having such a stressful time at the moment, Ive tried to fight it but it’s no good….

Last October I had my medical for my job, (black cab driver) every three years….

hadnt heard anything until this week…TFL sent me an email questioning if I’m fit to work….ive had to get letters from my GP and the urology team, explaining what I’ve been through ect…it’s been so stressful, thinking I might lose my licence… sent everything off, got an email today saying if they need any more information they will contact me….which leaves me in limbo, add to that my next lot of BCGS is around the corner,

also, my cholesterol is through the roof, I’ve been put on Statins, Doctors have given me a bit of a talking to, Ive spent this week changing my diet, counting calories.

Thinking about food 24/7 is horrible…im all up in the air…..and breath

love to you all xx

Nigel xx

  • I can't see how this sort of treatment would make you in any way unfit for work. A considerable proportion of the working population has some form of cancer these days it seems. Anyway.. I really hope they give you clarity and a positive response soon as being in limbo is horrid. As to food.. I have high cholesterol and my GP said "would you like me to prescribe statins?" I said "no" and she said "fine". Mine is 6.7. I try to eat sensibly but having to be constantly depriving yourself is miserable. We need to be in reasonably good spirits to keep us going through all this.! It's a matter of balance and compromise I believe. Good luck, keep the faith x

  • Hi Nigel,

Sounds that you're have a horid time at the moment.

Hope they give you the green light soonest...

I had slightly high cholesterol a while back, used to love prawn rolls with real butter. I changed my diet quite a bit, but not had another test since.

Gone a bit downhill with food this year myself, it's difficult so don't beat yourself up matey. Also been drinking a bit too much on the odd occasion..

Yeah deep breathes, go for walks to clear the head...

Look after yourself and good luck with the next BCG session.
