Hi there, it’s a long time since I’ve posted on here so a bit of an update, 11 years ago I first went to the doctor with blood in my wee, turned out it was bladder cancer Pta grade 3, I had 15 BCGs then there was a world shortage so I didn’t have any more, I’ve been fine since then with check ups every 3 then 6 months last one November they wanted to discharge me but I asked for at least one more and they said ok. Now I have blood in my pee when I wipe so will get in touch with my CNS tomorrow as it’ll be impossible to get a doctors appointment but will call at doctors tomorrow to see if they’ll give me a water test to see if any infection.
Apart from that I’ve been fine but a lot of worry for my husband, he’s had kidney cancer 4 years ago luckily he was having yearly CT scans for that and they found stomach cancer and Lymphoma, he had his stomach out in Jan then back about the Lymphoma in April, he’s kinda OK at the moment but as you all can imagine we’re a bit fed up with cancer x
sueCC . Hi Sue. Good to hear from you again, but sorry you have another worry on your hands, especially after all the both of you have been through. At my GPs, I can drop a sample off at reception before 3pm and the results are usually back the next day. Something you may like to do. Hopefully your CNS will offer some advice. I hope it turns out to be nothing serious for you. Keep us posted. Best wishes.
Hi Sue, so worrying for you revisiting those initial diagnosis experiences. I really hope it won't be BC this time but if it is at least you know that treatment can be very effective. I remember reading your posts 5 years ago and feeling so encouraged that you were still all clear. My BC came back 4 times during my BCG treatment, but I've just gone 2 years clear so fingers crossed...we never know. Hope your CNS will swing in to action. Sending very best wishes for you and your husband. Let us know how things go? H x
Aww thanks for that and so pleased to know you’ve been clear for 2 years, the longer the better. I’m just hoping it’s nothing much but at least if it is I’ve a jolly good idea of what will happen. Take care xx
Hi Sue, amazing that it has kept at bay for 11 years, let's hope its something minor for you to deal with, sorry you are having to go through more stress, you and your husband have had so much already to get through. Keep strong like you must have been over the last 11 years. Can imagine you are both very fed up with cancer, bless you, fingers crossed that it will all be OK.
Just heard back from the nurse and pleased to say it’s a water infection, antibiotics for a week then a week later another test if clear then I’m over 11 years cancer free, pheww.
Good luck to you all going through this. Take care
