One day to go until Mt first Turbt, extremily nervous, any tips on how to remain calm. I think I have 3 tumours to be removed. It has all been a huge shock but I need to get through this first bit and I am trying to stay hopeful.
Good evening Bumblebee 49. You’ll be able to cope far better than you think tomorrow, the nursing staff will be very helpful and you’ll be able to sleep right through. In the meantime, practice deep breathing and find your favourite calming music, try Mozarts clarinet concerto, especially the 2 nd movement. Best wishes, J.
Hi Bumblebee49. I know how you feel, as do many of us. Easy for me to say, but the procedure is not as bad as it sounds. I have been through it a few times. The doctors will come and have a chat with you to let you know what they will be doing. You jump on a bed, the nurses will be chatting to you and the next thing you know, you will be waking up in recovery not knowing anything about it. They will move you to a ward . Then tea and toast which will taste wonderful. I hope all goes well. Let us know. Best wishes.
We all seem to particularly enjoy the tea and toast rather than packet sandwiches Fingers crossed you get Nhs’s finest tomorrow. Best wishes. x
Best wishes for your TURBT.It will be over before you know it.Let us know how you get on.Love Jane x
Three days to go until my first TURBT!! So I feel just like you. I have had quite a few procedures -- but none like this! I am packing an overnight bag(just in case -- not so long ago I was caught out when I went for an ordinary outpatient appointment and the consultant decided I needed to be admitted! -that was for my heart) I am buying several magazines to leaf through and packing a book as well! This hot weather is not helping me calm down! I am telling myself that I am fortunate to get the procedure as fast as I have -- and that hopefully once it is done I will have a better idea of what lies ahead. I am sure you will sail through it!
Oh we are in the same boat, it's awful waiting but now it's tomorrow quite frightening. Good luck with yours xx
Thank you for that I will look it up and have a listen.
