Hello Everone,
I had my second TURBT on Tuesday. I was pretty unwell but the good news was, I am now cancer free )at the moment)
There was twi tiny growths which the surgion cauterised,, And I will get results in 6 weeks whether my cancer is now low grade,
My problem is, When do I start my blood thinner (RIVEROXIBAN) AGAIN ? Today is the fourth day but nobody has told me when to start again.. I do not want to risk a bleed, but then I do not want to risk a clot......I bled little this time at least visible..
My own gut instict is tonight or tomorrow night, I have to take mine with food at teatime....
Any ideas will be apprreciated,,
BTW according to my GP medical records, this TURBT was call a "Diagnostic Cystoscopy.........
Hi ern007. No experience of blood thinners, but could I suggest you call the free Mac helpline on 0808 808 0000. I think lines are open till 8pm. One of the nurses may be able to advise. Best wishes.
Good morning ern007, how are you today ? Riveroxiban is outside my experience and as Rily says this is a decision for qualified medics. Like you I had TURBT last week on Monday. I experienced a bit of soreness for a couple of days but I’m now back to something like normal. I have to say that the question of blood thinners would have best been discussed at your pre assessment before the procedure. Hoping that you soon resolve their question, best wishes, John.
Hi Riley

Hi John, I mislaid my disscharge papers, am sure it would have been on them, So it was 4 days for op and I remembered last time, it was three plus one I added, so i took them. With my heart condiktions not taking them is a risk of clotting, on the other side, get it wrong and a bleed is not great, tratmrnt but no antidote.. I am OK now John and bleed stoppied in a day, which was good. in hospital was not great, I got hypothermia and had lots of hot sheets, Not a great day but was able to go home, staff where freat and only 2 2mm growths found, at moment no cancer in my bladderm have to go back in six weeks and probably chemo through a catherer - to soon yet it seems.. That;s for your replky and your ear...
