Hello Everyone
Just back from Hospital where I had my latest flexible cystoscopy. I had a different consultant today. He pointed out what looked like small white feathers in my bladder. He suggested I come back in a few weeks for a rigid cystoscopy so that the team could remove said feathers. Following my previous flexible cystoscopy I began having occasional periods of slight bleeds when I urinated. I was prescribed Finasteride 5 mg daily because my cancer nurse said I was suffering from a vascular problem in my prostate as a result of the chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment I had when I was first diagnosed. I asked the consultant today what were his thoughts on what he discovered today. He said we will wait and see.mmmmm!
Has anyone in the Group experienced “white feathers” in their bladder or can offer an explanation? My first thought was recurrence of the cancer.
Keep safe

Hi . A bit of a worry, but these things like to keep us on our toes. I had something similar at a flexi a couple of years back. A small patch which looked like bits of flaky skin fluttering in the breeze. The doc wasn't sure and as an afterthought, should have taken a picture to discuss with colleagues, but too late. Rather than a TURBT, she booked me in for a follow up flexi in 3 weeks. It turned out to be 5 weeks, but when they went in, all was clear. No sign of the dodgy bit. A mystery, but thankfully all good. Nothing similar since. Hope it is something as innocuous for you. Best wishes.
Good luck! As Rily said, not necessarily something to worry for now ... growth and reoccurrences are normal. I have a checkup Wednesday (rigid cystoscopy + biopsies) and I am very prepared to hear that they removed / found a new growth. I will be celebrating a lot if they do not find anything, and "just" celebrating if they find a new growth. In this case, good they found it and did something about it. The important part is that we are caught in time. Before it has spread too much. After, we are "in the system" and we are going to be looked at and checked up frequently. I read of someone on this forum having had more than 10 TURBTs in a few years. And then ... the all clear! So, do not worry too much!
Fingers crossed for you Garviv. Whatever feathers turn out to be at least your team are on it. Hope the date comes quick. I've had so many both flexi and rigid I know the number and name of the booking clerks. I even chat to one of them about camping holidays I wait a couple of weeks and then phone up and chase politely. x
Thank you Herothedog. I was feeling a little disappointed. However, you and others on this BC blog have restored my faith. God bless you all. Stay safe Garviv
