I’ve had lower back pain for the past month. The last few days I’ve had some tingling in my arms and legs so today I have e mailed our useless health centre.I have asked to speak to someone so fingers crossed I can talk to a dr.Has anyone else had spinal pain ? I’ve got arthritis in both hips so perhaps it’s in my spine.I’m hoping I can get an x Ray or a scan to see what’s going on.Love to you all Jane x
Jane. Just to make you jealous. I've just been out for my usual 2 pints. Karaoke singers were awful, but some of the old songs were great. Doesn't look like you will get any results tonight. I hope you are warm and comfortable. Best wishes.
I am jealous but glad you enjoyed the old songs. The dear little lady opposite appears to have dementia and hasn’t stopped talking, bless her.Lots of very unhappy paramedics complaining earlier about not being able to hand over patients. It has been an interesting but exhausting day.Jane x
Hi H,Have had some painkillers but my back is much more painful than when I arrived. This bed is comfy though so I hope to get some sleep.Love Jane x
I’m still in hospital and I think they are keeping me in when they can find a bed.The confused old lady talked all night. Then there was a mentally disturbed young girl in screaming and shouting,The got her settled finally and then she refused to go home and security removed her. Finally a doctor with a bellowing voice and a mobile phone ringtone to match turned up to clerk in patients.I’m looking forward to speaking to the doctors and finding out what if anything the scan showed.I’m so tired it was impossible to sleep.Love to all.Jane x
Morning Jane, I had spinal stenosis, which in essence means compressed vertebrae (lumber 4 and 5). Squashed bone pressed on nerves in spinal column causing incredible pain in my lower legs. After a sudden haemorrhage my bladder cancer was diagnosed while I was still waiting for the spinal surgery date and I remember telling my CNS at that first diagnosis meeting that I was more desperate about the spinal problem than cancer! I was forced to postpone the surgery date for 5 months while I had 2 x TURBT and 6 weeks of BCG after which my CNS called the Orthopaedic team (at another hospital) and instructed them to do my spinal surgery immediately while I had a gap in cancer treatment. And they did alleluia! You can understand why I love my CNS so much. Hopefully once the spinal team confirm your issue they will come up with a treatment plan. Trust someone brought you a cuppa and some breakfast this morning? xxx
Hi H,Yes I had tea & toast made by one of the nursing assistants who is going to be training to be a dr in the future.I’m not hungry really, not feeling that brilliant from pain and lack of sleep.I find this pain worse than the pain following the cystectomy.I should know more later.I knew I wasn’t imagining the strange pins & needles sensations. It is good that you were helped by the spinal surgery.Love Jane x
