IV received a letter saying I have a right adnexal mass on my ovarian pathology and for this I need a transvaginal pelvis ultrasound scan ..,help explain in to me in simpler words ? Also have a enlaged iliac node I really don't wanna Google it as worried
I've had one of those scans - is that what you want explained? Essentially they use an ultrasound probe in the vagina. Somewhat undignified, but it's not painful, and all in private. I had a female radiographer who was very pleasant about it. (I expect you can request a female radiographer/chaperone as you wish).
The actual pathology? Really just saying they can see something they want more information about to know what it is. Hope it all goes well.
