Recurrence of TCC

Had a recurrence of TCC and am about to start a once weekly chemotherapy instilled into the bladder . This is for six weeks. Please can anyone share their experiences of having this? Also did you continue to work during the time? Or had sick leave? Thanks

Hi,I was told it wouldn’t respond to radiotherapy.Chemo wasn’t mentioned I presume for the same reason.I know from talking to the surgeon and later to the urologist that I wouldn’t have survived long without the cystectomy.I just have to hope that the cancer won’t return.Strangely I didn’t have any visible blood but I was in pain and had lost weight.Jane

Hi, ah ok, definitely the right decision for the cystectomy. Sadly so far everything I read for Sarcomatoid tends to suggest less than a year OS due to almost guaranteed metastasis. I have an urgent full body CT scan next Saturday to determine if it has started already.

Thank you Jane. My wife and two kids in their early 20’s are helping. It’s not easy is it. Good luck to your future too.
