Hello Everyone
I am absolutely astounded after hearing the governments proposed pay rise of 1% for NHS nurses. The NHS Staff have saved thousands of lives during this awful pandemic putting themselves in danger on our behalf. If it wasn’t for the skill and dedication these wonderful people used on my behalf during my cancer treatment I don’t think I would be alive today. I for one support the nurses and have written to my MP to register my disappointment with his governments proposal.
Thank You Macmillan Nurses, thank you NHS Nurses
stay safe

Could not agree more. It’s a travesty, especially considering the money wasted during the pandemic and lucrative business contracts being dealt out . Selfishly, really hoping they don’t go on strike and that the government see sense
Totally agree. I think the Govt should pay a one-off bonus (maybe £1,000?) to all NHS workers at every level who have worked at risk to their own lives. In addition the nurses should get the pay rise they are requesting. Nurses have always been underpaid. Garviv you've prompted me to write to my MP also. Thank you NHS Nurses. xxx
Bear in mind also that all public sector workers were subject to !% annual pay rises for years after the financial crash in 2008. I worked for the Environment Agency from 2010 to 2016 and we all had a 1% annual rise which for staff earning £15k p.a.was naff all.
The nurses deserve far better treatment. Perhaps Dido Harding could put her loose change out of the £37 billion her test & can't trace outfit spaffed up a wall in the NHS pot

I may appear to be listening but in my head I'm all at sea.
There are a huge number of workers who have kept the country running during the pandemic, who also deserve better pay & conditions, but NHS most of all. We have a govt that is more interested in lining the pockets of business men, especially their cronies.
There are also plenty of jobs going in the public sector for those in private sector who winge & think public have it cushy with job security, good pension etc.
I too have emailed my MP. Our daughter is an NHS worker, the Office for national Statistics says inflation was 0.9% in Jan, latest figure available. Daughter was coming home from work every night, like all of them extra exhausted from working in PPE, but jumping in the shower before even hugging their little boy, because she could not get head covering and was washing her hair to reduce the risk of passing Covid to her husband who has pre existing health conditions. So 0.1% net hardly even covers extra hot water daily, does it?
So agree Teasswill, Boris actually did lie to Parliament about contracts, the high court judge said they had NOT all been disclosed in the time limit. Never mind who they went to.. and still they want to build HS2, just don't get me started..
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
