Mrs CB got some Vit D tablets from Tesco. I take one a day with food and, as it's cold, whisky.

  • All over the media it's "don't call your doctors you will just be being a nuisance, wait to be sent a letter etc". But our neighbour texted me to say that she had called and been given an appt for the jab for her husband aged 77, no problem at all. So I did likewise and Mr Denby, 76, got his early on Weds. Very smoothly organised at a largeish modern health centre with carpark big enough for adjoining [closed atm] library and community hall all available. He's been a bit sleepier than usual since but no other side effects complaints have arisen.

Best wishes for getting them, Denby

Yes; we had ours at our local surgery on January 4th. No after effects; only a sore shoulder for a couple of days.

  • That's good news. In our area, they're still wading through the over 80s. I'm concerned that they won't have enough supplies to do the second doses when they're due (stretching to 12 weeks is very wrong IMO) & people will end up having to have a third to fulfil the effect. I'm not expecting mine until end of Feb at the earliest...

My sister- and brother-in-law in Wales are 80 and 79 and neither have had their jabs. It's so patchy.

Got my vitamin D delivery yesterday. I must admit, I was confused by it. A nondescript small grey mailing bag with just my name on the outside that rattles. I wracked my brain trying to think what I'd ordered from ebay (It looked like a typical mailing bag that some of the Chinese sellers use) or Amazon. On opening all became clear.

Getting my first jab this evening as well.

  • Hello Martyn, I had same experience with Vitamin D tablets. I received letter from NHS inviting me to get an appointment for Covid vaccinations. I went on line and nearest vaccination centre was Blackburn cathedral but I was put off because their is no parking available. I chose instead a pharmacy at a football ground 10 miles away with parking. Got my appointment on Wednesday 3rd February, second vaccination on April 22nd at a local Rugby ground. My brother in law got a text from his GP to go for a vaccination on same day anytime that was convenient. The vaccination centre is two miles from my house. Funny system but at least it is working. My vaccination place is about 11 miles away. It been set up by the rural alliance which is a group of 6 rural practices in W Cheshire. The practices themselves are controlling the invites
