Hi All. How is everyone doing? Anyone stuck indoors? Remember, this is a support group, and things don't always need to be medical. There is usually someone here if you just want a chat, a moan, or any stories. My wife has been stocking up on paint, so guess what I will be doing in the near future. Best wishes.

  • Wow, how do they get into your garden? That is a serious fence even for deer who have springs under their feet.

  • We actually have a gap at the end of the fence to allow them entry. They roam in the nearby fields & woodland. the female spends quite a lot of time sitting under a group of trees in our garden. The plants do suffer though....

  • It’s a shame you have had some plant damage. We had a flock of 63 sheep in our gardens one year followed by 12 cows a while after. My neighbour at the time phoned early in the morning and said have you looked out of the bedroom window. The entire garden was full of sheep.A neighbour and I managed eventually to get them all together until the farmer arrived. They didn’t cause too much damage, unlike the cows.I enjoyed having the cows in the field at the end of the garden. The fields have been built on or are in the process of redevelopment.

  • On three occasions over the 18 years I've lived here, I've spotted a red deer stag come visiting. Thrilled me. x

  • I’ve managed to book a covid booster for Wednesday morning.Luckily the health centre are running a couple of clinics so I won’t have to travel far.My sister has been ill but negative for Covid so far.We won’t see mum till she has recovered.Pondering whether to put up the Christmas tree.I will be on my own again this year.Love to you all Jane xx

  • Hi Jane

So sorry to read that you will be alone for Xmas. Do put up your tree.

Merry Christmas Santa  and a Happy New Year

    Love Inanna x

    I know that I don't know
  • Hi Inanna,I shall probably put the tree up tomorrow.I do get lonely, this will be my third Christmas on my own.Hopefully I can see John and Sarah if they are well enough.I hope you have a good Christmas. Thanks for all your support this year.Love Jane xx

  • Hi Jane, I was alone last year. My christmas tree was already up half adorned before we decided to keep separate. I left it looking dejected for christmas day but by boxing day it was undressed and out in the front yard being eaten by my goats before it dropped on my carpet Slight smile It made the goats incredibly happy. Other years I have put the tree out with fatball decorations to please the birds. Hope you get to see your sister and John. Thanks for posting on the site. Love Hx

  • Egged on by husband I have just nearly midnight] finished erecting our eco-artificial tree. Eco as it was given to us on freecycle or freegle well used but in good nick and this is its second year with us. Daughter makes me feel better, they have had the same live tree in a pot so long [10 years] it was brushing the 9ft ceiling last year. So it is outside for good and they have bought another proper pot grown one the same height as little grandson. So they have told him if this one thrives as long he will be 15 and it should be taller than him by then - just!

Ours is prelit with tiny white lights [not fibre optic] and so tomorrow many red baubles in graded sizes up the tree.

  • Hi H,I bet the birds loved the fat balls.I’ve been down to town this morning and bought a couple of presents in our award winning post office.I stopped off at the charity shop and spent some of my birthday money from last month on some larger clothes. It was the first time I have been in there for over a year.I’m looking forward to when this pandemic is better and I can join something to make friends.I was keen to sign up to the local group who clean up the river.I went to one of their jumble sales a few years ago and got chatting to one of the men who set it up.Alternatively I could go to a class at our local centre.I couldn’t really do anything when I was caring for mum as it was a full time job.Love Jane xx
