Hi All. How is everyone doing? Anyone stuck indoors? Remember, this is a support group, and things don't always need to be medical. There is usually someone here if you just want a chat, a moan, or any stories. My wife has been stocking up on paint, so guess what I will be doing in the near future. Best wishes.
Oh wow Jane.....that sounds painful. I hate backache. Sounds like a good plan to rest now.
Have a lovely weekend
Sending love to all

Interesting day today. Got someone to clear the gutters this morning. 2 storey house, so my days of ladders are well gone. Bucket full of moss cleared. Pre op this afternoon which seemed to go well. Carolina Reaper curry for tea. Cleared my sinuses. Toilet paper in the fridge for tomorrow morning. Hope everyone is well. Best wishes.
Hi rily,Good to have got the pre op done.I need the gutters clearing,I have some interesting plants growing in them.I did manage to clear out one gutter from the balcony but the rest are far too high.I’m trying to save up for all the repairs.I need a bird guard on one of the chimneys.Today I was sitting quietly on the sofa when a piece of brick landed near my feet. Some jackdaws were squabbling on the roof and sent a pile of stuff down the chimney.I noticed I’m not the only house along our row to be offering accommodation for birds. It only takes a bad storm a loose piece of wood and they move in.Love Jane
Hi Rily, pre-op out of the way...tick. PCR next? Amazing how quickly we get used to these little routines. I feel like I've been wearing a groove back and forth to the hospital for ever. It will be so good once the op is done ..not long to wait now. Is Carolina Reaper a brand name for ready meals? x
Hello Jane, How are you now? I hope I am not being a little presumptive but a few years ago my dear mother had some minor property repairs done by Age Concern now Age UK I think.Perhaps it may be worth a phone call or your local councillor. Stay safe. Garviv

Hi Garviv,That’s interesting,I’ll have to find out.I was 61 in November.I love the house but being on 4 floors the scaffolding bills are expensive.I’ll probably have to sell up in the future. It’s not a practical house or garden for an older person and my partner is disabled. He struggles with the stairs here and has always lived in a bungalow.Love Jane
Had a long overdue visit to dentist yesterday, due to a lost filling. Quite a mixed experience. A new dentist, younger than my children (yikes), irritating habit of using my name almost every other sentence (and got it wrong twice). Very keen to explain everything in advance & 'tailor treatment to the requirement of the patient' (I just want my tooth fixed, thanks). But oh so lovely when medical history queried, to be able to say 'Yes, I had surgery for bladder cancer 10 years ago & all clear since'.
Apart from tripping in a pothole on my way back to the car (embarrassing tumble to the ground, but unhurt), I now have the prospect of several more visits & some expensive dental work to look forward to!
Planning to make mince pies today. Wishing everyone well in the run up to Christmas & beyond.
