Hi All. How is everyone doing? Anyone stuck indoors? Remember, this is a support group, and things don't always need to be medical. There is usually someone here if you just want a chat, a moan, or any stories. My wife has been stocking up on paint, so guess what I will be doing in the near future. Best wishes.
Good luck. to you both Potter100 & nick freckle, sounds so painful xxx
I'm all good now Blanket, but thank you. I'm now Day 18 following RC, and loving life. Wednesday just gone, I managed a nice easy 50 yd stroll over to the pub opposite my house for a pint and lunch with a friend - the first time out the house aside from hospital appointments since August.
I've binned the pain killers, as I now don't need them - and this morning (probably naughty of me), I took my car out down the road and back - and was able to do an emergency stop with no pain. I had the wife in the car with me, and she did the old driving examiner trick of slapping the dashboard.
After the troubles I have had since diagnosis, I'm just waiting for it to go wrong!
I am being careful, I'm lifting nothing heavier than a half filled kettle (or a pint), and I'm enjoying being up and about every so often.
Night times are heaven, getting a good amount of sleep, and having a nap in the afternoon.
Looking forwards to my holiday in Pembrokeshire in July.
Hey Nickfreckle, it's so good to hear about your great progress. So pleased you got a marvellous service from your medical team which hopefully will ensure a healthy future, but I think you must take a bow yourself. You have such a positive attitude to your situation and recovery. I think that's half the battle. You certainly deserved that pint! Sending love H xx
Thank you. I still have days where I am very tired and fatigued - but as my team said - my body has been deteriorating since I started treatment, so not only do I have to recover from the surgery, I also have to still recover from the ravages of treatment - because that recovery hadn't even began either.
Well done you. Loving the positive vibes. Life is good with a stoma

Great to hear you're getting there and so soon after your operation it's so encouraging for anyone about to go on the same path as you x keep up the positive attitude and enjoy your life x take care
