Hi All. How is everyone doing? Anyone stuck indoors? Remember, this is a support group, and things don't always need to be medical. There is usually someone here if you just want a chat, a moan, or any stories. My wife has been stocking up on paint, so guess what I will be doing in the near future. Best wishes.
Hi Teasswill,That must be a difficult situation.I’ve found it all hard, the amount that has to be done with little help and no money.I still get days when I am totally overwhelmed by grief and the responsibilty. The house is considerably emptier though and that should give prospective viewers a better idea of room size.I’m cross with myself that I didn’t get the house on in the Spring when the market was better. It should be a desirable house but the amount of work needed might put people off. Will have to wait and see.Love Jane
Very angry as the auctioneers have not been paying in all the monies from the sale of mum’s effects and the solicitor has had to phone and write to them and that will be extra cost to us.I hope the other auctioneers will be better and not lie to me.On a happier note my uncle has just rung me from hospital and sounds quite chipper. He is waiting for a care package before being allowed home as he can no longer cope without help.Feel so stressed, still no decent landline and the internet keeps crashing.Love to all Jane xx
Is there an auctioneers' professional body you can report them to? They morally should cover the cost of your solicitors' having had to chase them. Make sure you put the word around local shops etc that they actually lied to you! Disgusting!.
Glad to hear the better news on your uncle, one reduced worry for you.

Thanks for the hug Denby.Feel I have let mum down by choosing this auction house.Think I might have to collect everything from there and put it in somewhere else. They have been nothing but trouble from the start and the owner is a nightmare.See what the solicitor says she is obviously not very happy with me or the auctioneers.
I don’t know and as the internet keeps crashing I can’t really find out.I don’t find it easy to look on my phone.I’m a bit shocked as I had E mails and statements stating when the money would be paid into the account at the solicitors and had no idea only the first sale money had gone in.It’s really not good enough. If I leave a review It won’t be good.Sarah said the owner was really rude to her and I found her the same very abrasive. It is upsetting. Thanks for your support.Love Jane
Hi Jane, I can certainly understand how overwhelming the house clearing and selling process feels. You have worked tirelessly on it for so long and before that you were either recovering from major surgery or full-time caring for your mum. Truly you have given time and energy beyond what most people could manage without collapsing. You are certainly not a failure. I agree the housing market seems to have stalled, it will recover but it may take time. Any chance you and John could escape on a little holiday? Sometimes a change of scene can offer a breath of fresh air and a shift of perception? Doesn't have to cost a lot, I have always been a big camping fan. I did two nights in a tent with my daughter and granddaughter at the end of May. Not bad at 76 eh? Sending you love and positive energy H x
Hi H,Thank you for your support.Well done on the camping.John can’t get away now due to his mothers frailty and his own health problems.I’m still pondering a night or two away but I can’t really afford it.I might be able to get down to the coast and see my uncle.I could certainly do with a change of scenery.Love Jane x
Good idea Herothedog.
Just wondering, do Macmillan ever help with costs of a small holiday for cancer patients? I definitely would nominate Jane after all she's been and is still going through, as I guess her partner's medical issues would probably rule out camping.
Or any other charities, local Rotary/Lions, etc?
