Hi All. How is everyone doing? Anyone stuck indoors? Remember, this is a support group, and things don't always need to be medical. There is usually someone here if you just want a chat, a moan, or any stories. My wife has been stocking up on paint, so guess what I will be doing in the near future. Best wishes.
Hi H,I’m not progressing that well. The solicitor wanted me to put the house on the market by the spring and it’s still not on.I don’t think she appreciates just how stuffed the house was or that I have been working mostly alone.I feel for your sheep the grass here reminds me of 1976.Fingers crossed for some rain soon.
Jane, Your house seems like a treasure trove of unique things, when we had to clear my parents house it was a lot easier, no treasures there. If you had more help I’m sure you would have progressed further, but life and families are what they are. In 1976 I was pregnant, my eldest son was born in December, many years ago! Jean x
Hi Jean,Mum’s 2nd marriage was on the hottest day of the year in 1976.I still remember how boiled we all were and the parched grass on the wedding photos.Yes there were plenty of treasures here and thousands of papers.I have been through all of mum’s papers apart from a small pile and a box of notebooks but it’s taken months.I was about to put some documents into the auction but on checking I think they belong in the record office.Because mum had dementia in her final years things became muddled up when she tried to sort her papers. She and I went through piles of newspaper cuttings before she went into hospital which was good as I recycled most of those. The house is much emptier now so prospective buyers will have a clearer idea of room size.I shall be glad when this is all done I’m totally fed up with it.Love Jane x
Hi everyone
I haven't been on for a while had sooooo much going on here. Broken arm, house move, 2 new grandchildren! Ha ha

Clare
Hi Clare,Lovely to see you back.Wow you have had a lot going on.Love Jane x
Jane, you certainly have had a lot to sort through, it all sounds quite intense and mind boggling, my parents were no scholars and basic Norfolk people, so no great masterpieces, it was sad though to see things that especially mum had collected and treasured were not of any value, I definitely think our children will have no problem sorting our things out, xx
Hi Jane
It's definitely been a busy 6 months. Both my children moved out so we downsized. It's been quite a chore dealing with the garden. Also taken over the running of the local cancer support group.
Oh, and I was in hospital for a while with pneumonia & heart failure. Just getting back to my old self again.
Good news is it has been 2 years and I'm still cancer free.
