Hi All. How is everyone doing? Anyone stuck indoors? Remember, this is a support group, and things don't always need to be medical. There is usually someone here if you just want a chat, a moan, or any stories. My wife has been stocking up on paint, so guess what I will be doing in the near future. Best wishes.
Happy Easter everyone. After dragging myself up early yesterday morning the gardening man didn’t turn up.He phoned later to apologise he had forgotten all about it.He is supposed to be coming over tomorrow morning now.I might be going over to John’s later. His mum wants some things planted and it’s difficult for John to manage that with his muscle disease.John’s nephew and niece won’t do anything to help unless they are paid.May go and finish painting the bird table now while the sun is out.Love to you all Jane xx
I hope Bob approved? So relieved that suddenly the fatballs have started to disappear again here. I really worried until a couple of weeks ago, there were so few garden birds around. We've a single pink tulip in a small tub, sole survivor of a pack given us for our ruby wedding 4 years back. Nice to see it. x
Hi Jane, beautiful sunshine here too, but my tulips are a long way off flowering. I have narcissus and primroses in abundance, a scattering of violets and forget me nots. A festival of blue anemones but all my white ones caught a frost and are set back. Who knows why? There was another frost this morning. Friday saw first grass cut of the year. The sheep are desperate for a burst of fresh grass growth, but my goats incredibly happy when my gardener gave them the rose bush prunings. Amazing how they chomp it down, thorns and all! Our swallows have just returned a bit late, and bumble bees are buzzing. If it got a tad warmer I could believe it was Spring. Love H x
My goodness swallows! Oh I wish! We too did first grass cut Good Friday. I'd love to meet your goats! Daffs and primroses we do have.
I have seen swallows around most years here. The lovely weather didn’t last long,it’s pouring down here and so dark I’ve put the lights on.I don’t suppose the gardening man will come over today though you can see what needs doing from the lounge window.Spent yesterday doing the muscle disease families genealogy.I had better do something sensible today like packing. My aunt is asking whether my sister will come over during her visit.I think Sarah will be in hiding. My aunt is like an aunt from Jeeves and Wooster rather formidable.x
Hooray the tree man has been and given me a quote which I’ve agreed to and they will come back in a fortnight. He’s going on holiday to France first. He said he did some work in the house years ago when it was still a bed and breakfast.Love to all Jane xx
We do.Aunt formidable thought mum was mad to buy this house and wanted her to buy a bungalow. Now though she can see how happy mum was here.I did have to put a stop to one or two of mum’s ideas. She was very eccentric but I miss her so much.As John said when mum said she was moving into the shed she was being serious.x
