Hi All. How is everyone doing? Anyone stuck indoors? Remember, this is a support group, and things don't always need to be medical. There is usually someone here if you just want a chat, a moan, or any stories. My wife has been stocking up on paint, so guess what I will be doing in the near future. Best wishes.
How interesting some of your finds are, sounds an amazing woman your mum.
She certainly wasn’t like my friend’s mothers ! Mum was kind, thoughtful, clever and eccentric. She was interested in just about everything. We all miss her terribly.
Hi Denby,I bought the parish magazines so I’ll keep those for the time being. There are some fascinating old magazines in this box, starting in the 1870’s,Ironmongery,gardening,building and engineering are the subjects.I believe the Ironmonger magazines are quite rare but they are in bad condition.I was with mum when she bought them and helped carry them home. They were filthy dirty but contained some useful information on firms Mum was researching at the time.I love the adverts and the illustrations.
Just love an eccentric, such interesting people. I feel like I should start clearing all the old junky stuff I have I kept, far too many bits of paper, recipes I never cook, got tons of recipe books, things I ve cut out of magazines, leaflets, I do not really want to leave it for others to have to clear, reading what hard work it's been for you. Well done Jane but as you say some of it is so interesting.
