Exhausting

Anyone else just find this whole BC journey absolutely exhausting?!

T1 G3 Sep 2018 TURBT, 2nd TURBT Dec 2018.  6wks BCG completed.  Biopsies/camera wc 29th April to find out if BCG has worked and next treatment plan.

I'm just so exhausted, just returned to my part time job after 3 months off, needed to go back to save my paid sick leave for if i need it at end of April.

I have 3 young children, my social media feed is full of friends enjoying days at the beach with their children, theme parks.  I've taken them on a couple of days out, but then I'm ruined the next day!  I missed a meal out with the school mums last night and was in bed by 8.30pm (didn't actually sleep well to be honest!).

Maybe just the stress of it all, sorry to moan, but feeling a bit low xx

  • Hi . We have heard there is a shortage of BCG. Not affected things here so far, but things do catch up. Let's hope the treatment your husband has had so far has done the trick. Wishing you and your family well. Best wishes.

  • What a long horrible day that must have been, very draining too mentally and physically.

I hope you are first in this morning and wish you luck.

  • Good luck for today Catcat. Hoping it all goes smoothly and you are soon sitting up drinking tea and eating toast. Funny how the cardboard like sliced bread tastes like heaven when the op is over! xxx

  • Aaaaaw no Catcatcat, that is the absolute worst!

I've seen people in tears because of this, it's such a build up.  I think I'd refuse to go home, not that it would do me any good.

Hope all goes well for today x

  • I was quite calm to be honest, think I was just too exhausted to get angry and I knew the children would be happy to see me.  To be honest it was easier for my husband to come and collect me at 7.30pm, with the kids in the car also.  Would have been more difficult if asked to collect me late at night!

Anyway, first on list today, all done and back on ward.  Think just biopsies taken as not much pain and catheter looks nice and clear.  Not seen Dr yet...

  • Hi All,

Got home at 7pm last night.  Discharge note just said Cystoscopy and biopsies taken, so looks like they didn't find anything else.  Good news, the BCG must be working!  Will wait on biopsy results now to see if I carry on BCG or have a break until July.

    Take care everyone

  • Great news Catcat, now get out in the garden and feel the sun on your skin. Enjoy the weekend with your family. xxx
