After TURBT procedure on Monday 1st June my Consultant advised me that my Bladder Cancer was Grade 1 and that the tumour had been successfully scraped away. I further received intravesical chemotherapy. I have a CT scan appointment booked for the 29th June to check that the bladder is still tumour free, which, according to the Consultant, is expected to be. Following on from that I will be invited to the meeting to discuss my situation going forward. Originally, before the TURBT., the Consultant did say I would not get chemotherapy but would receive radiotherapy and immunotherapy treatment.
I would be interested to hear from anyone who has already taken, from the same starting point as myself, this exact journey but has travelled further than the stage I have just reached.
ps. I feel really well after my TURBT. I had an easy time during my short stay, Monday morning through to early evening Wednesday, in hospital. I had no problems.
Hi Kenzie,
Welcome to this friendly forum.
I was diagnosed with grade 3 BC, but was not muscle invasive. That was 3 1/2 years ago now.
I've probably gone a different route to what you'll go through, but just wanted to wish you all the best.
It's good to hear that the TURBT went well and you're feeling well.

Hi. Consultant told me, after the first TURBT procedure that wasn’t completed due to my bladder being perforated, I would not be getting my bladder removed but that I would be getting radiotherapy and immunotherapy. Although the procedure had to be stopped due to the perforation a slither of the tumour was removed to for a biopsy. However, it was after the perforation had healed and then a TURBT re-run, I was told it was grade 1 and that the cancer had been all scraped away. There was no conversation re the treatment that had been discussed previously. Just that I would need to have another CT scan in 4 weeks time to check the bladder was still tumour free. However, the Consultant doesn’t expect there to be any change.
All fingers crossed.
Kenzie
