I had a follow-up cystoscopy last month [after 9 doses of BCG]. The doctor found a 5 mm papillary lesion in the bladder which looked remarkably like a recurrent cancer. He suggested TULA and was certain it is a recurrence. I as the patient disagreed and demanded a Rigid cystoscopy under GA and TURBT. This was done a week ago and the histology shows this as Nephrogenic adenoma/metaplasia which is a benign effect of BCG. I got the histology result yesterday and am over the moon.

Please, please, always demand histological proof of a new lesion in your bladder and do not accept the label of 'recurrence'. BCG causes lesions similar to bladder cancer.
