After a weeks delay due to a Proteus Mirablilis UTI, I had my first of 6 doses of Mitomycin yesterday morning. Found the whole process a doddle, and had barely any symptoms or issues for the rest of the day. However, today I have increasing discomfort when urinating, as well as a frequent urge to pee, as well as slightly cloudy urine. I am wondering if these are normal symptoms, or if I have yet another UTI.
Anyone have any insight into what I should consider normal post-Mitomycin symptoms? I don't want to keep having to request a urine test (it takes several days), and then have another treatment postponed.

Chromedome . Hi Matt, and a welcome from me. We know MMC can cause various side effects. We also know that catheters can cause UTIs, and so always best to get checked out. Where I live the local pharmacists can check for UTIs and can prescribe antibiotics. Usually a 24 hour turnaround. Best wishes.
Thanks! I’ve emailed my urology nurse, and will check at the pharmacy tomorrow morning.
I was given one dose of Mitomycin after the TURBT. It caused severe cystitis, when the catheter was clamped. I was writhing in agony for about 1 hour. Subsequently, I continued with blood in urine and severe pain on passing urine, which gradually settled. I also had severe lethargy and flu like symptoms. Then I had a cystoscopy three weeks later to remove my Double J stent. This showed intense inflammation below the resection site along with two inflammatory nodules. Two weeks later, I had severe haematuria with clots, pain etc etc. which lasted two days. A week later I had a rigid cystoscopy where they found a large area of ulceration below the original resection site which was bleeding with clots. No sign of cancer. It all quickly settled down after that and I was able to complete my BCG inductive treatment. Recent cystoscopy and bladder biopsy showed granulomas due to BCG but no cancer. Mitomycin is like Domestos for cancer cells. It is supposed to reduce recurrence by 40%, but this comes at a cost.
