I'm back again. My husband is waiting for an assessment to see if he is fit enough for his bladder to be removed.
He really wants to have it done but he is not eating (only cakes, biscuits, chocolate, sweets etc.) He has no energy and sleeps endlessly for hours and has no energy whatsoever. I am wondering if the loss of appetite and sleeping so much is actually because of the cancer. The latest is that he has been prescribed anti-sickness pills because if presented with a very small meal he heaves after a couple of mouthfuls.
I would really like to know if anyone else has experienced this and if so what was the treatment for lack of appetite and the constant sleeping.
Kind regards
I'm so sorry your both having to deal with this. Can't help with your situation much but sure someone will come along soon with something more helpful.
I do hope he's is able to go down the route of bladder removal if that's what is needed, so fingers crossed he can pass the assessment if that is what he wants to do.
Possibly letting people know how old he is and what his general fitness and health is like may help, Also his diagnosis may also help for advice, I assume it's muscle invasive and fairly high ish grade etc based from what you have said so far and the fact that bladder removal is an option on the cards.
I know you say he's having trouble eating but as you say it could be from the cancer or treatment amongst many things.
Have you spoken to your CNS team for help and advice, I'm sure they could provide meals in a drink as a potential way to keep his strength up whilst not being able to eat much that he may be able to stomach better. But anything even cakes ets is obviously better than nothing.
That's all I can really suggest, but I hope for both of you that he can have the op.

Thank you so much for your reply and your good wishes. It is certainly reassuring that it is not just my husband experiencing this. I do make sure that he has protein drinks and bars so hopefully he will be fit enough to have the operation.
Kind regards
Thank you for kind message. I must admit that I am finding it very stressful to see him suffering. He has had 13 UTIs since February and he has lost so much weight. He was very fit and played golf three times a week even though he is elderly. He never seems to be free from pain from the UTIs.
I have to be strong and positive for him but sometimes find it very difficult. However, we are very lucky as we have tremendous support from our family.
