I just want to write an update on my pathology MDT outcome.
After an excruciating worry-filled three weeks familiar to all here, I finally got my follow up appointment through 2 days before for Friday 14th at 4pm. I was to go to Urology main building.
But the day before I received a text telling me that it was now a phone appointment which seemed strange but fine.
I immediately started to search for information on follow-ups over the phone and began to relax a little bit.
Having been told initially that my lesion was cancer with no chance of it being benign. (I’m now wondering why I was told this).
Also considering that I had been experiencing intense abdominal and lower back pains and had a few incidents of gross haematuria in the weeks leading up to my GP consult, cystoscopy and Turbt along with urinary disruption with urgency and burning etc throughout.
I was completely elated to hear that the lesion was in fact papilloma of the bladder which is totally benign with low risk of recurrence or progression.
Apparently these benign lesions are extremely rare (I was told only around 1% of bladder lesions / tumours) and difficult to diagnose as they follow exactly the same patterns as other papillary lesions of the bladder causing all the same symptoms. Well, I can certainly attest to that!
No further treatment needed for now and I‘m scheduled for a follow up cystoscopy in 12 months.
Huge thanks to you all for your support and care throughout these intense and terrifying few weeks.
If I can offer any help to others going through this then I would like to stay and do that if its ok with everyone…? .

Good morning!
Thank you all so much for your replies.
It’s been such a bizarre few weeks and I know that’s something everyone here has been through so you’ll all know about the exhausting swings of emotion made a whole lot more bearable by finding this wonderful group.
Thank you again and I’ll be sticking around - I’d like to offer my support and care but also I need to know how everyone’s doing!
And I’ll need to know how Nigel’s dog is and how your house sale is going Jane!
Happy Sunday everyone
love Nikki x
