Hi.. my husband had a TURBT op last August to remove a g3 Ta tumour and has had the full induction BCG treatment (6 bladder washes). A follow-up cystoscopy this week revealed he has another tumour (to be removed next week) which is really disappointing. I know g3 means it is more likely to return, or spread, but does anyone know whether it's common for it to return this quickly? Many thanks for all your input.. you are a wonderful group of supportive people! <3
Hi again MaxJ . Sorry to hear husband has had a recurrence. It is distressing. Unfortunately we know this is not uncommon even in the short space of time. This is the reason we are monitored so regularly so as to hopefully catch things early. Some people are more prone than others. The biopsies from the next TURBT will determine whether they try BCG again or an alternative treatment such as Mitomycin which is administered in the same way. I hope all goes well. Best wishes.
