I was doing pretty well on my post RC recovery. having passed tge 6 week mark. But POW now in hospital with a UTI. It never rains but it pours. Leo
Hi Leo. Sorry to hear that you’ve developed a UTI. It’s a well recognised but thankfully easily treatable complication. I’m sure you’ll be sorted very soon with appropriate antibiotics and hydration. My very best wishes.
Hi Leo, sorry to hear you are in hospital. I hope your antibiotics work quickly for you so you can get home and enjoy the Christmas festivities.
Love Ade xx
@Hopeful786 have you got any idea how long it takes antibiotics to work? Being switched to a different antibiotic as gentamicin and amoxicillin not working. Persistent high temperature.
Hi Leo1. Sorry to hear that your temperature is still up. It all depends on the sensitivity of the bug causing the infection to the antibiotics given. With correct treatment one should expect improvement within 48 to 72 hours. Hopefully they would have taken your urine and blood cultures and can modify treatment according to the sensitivities. The delay in improvement can be frustrating but they need to find the right combination of antibiotics. I’m sure you’ll be sorted soon. Take care.
