Hi All

Hope you are all Keeping Well so had my phone call today it was for a Cancer care Review had a good chat with the GP and he is happy with my progress he has put me under his direct care at the practice normally you get who’s available he asked if I needed anything I said not personally no but you can do one thing for me Doctor the next person to come through the doors with symptoms like I had regardless of age or gender take them seriously on visit one not visit three like it was for me to be fair it was my first ever dealing with this Doctor and he is one of the better ones at the practice

  • Hi Ste, Its good that you are now under his direct care , i dont like being passed around the practice , continuity is far better i think. I love that you spoke out for future patients that may experience delays in diagnosis. You highlighting the problem could go a long way to others getting an early diagnosis. well done you

    Much love Angela x

  • Hi Ste,Good that you spoke out,it’s so common to be fobbed off and not taken seriously.I’m glad you will have a gp who is responsible for your care.Continuity is better for building up a rapport with a dr.Love Jane x

  • Hi Ste,

  • Hi Ste,

I was fobbed off by my GP practice too. I was made to go to a pharmacist twice and then a nurse practitioner at least twice before I demanded to see a GP. Then I ended up on to 2 week cancer referral and a Bladder cancer diagnosis the following week! A Holistic Cancer Support lady from my GP surgery phoned and spoke to me and my lovely Hubby after the diagnosis and she was appalled at how my symptoms had been ignored and how difficult it had been to get a referral to Urology.

Well done for highlighting this to your GP. You never know, you could save someone's life by making them more vigilant of Bladder Cancer symptoms.

    Love Ade xx Heart️
