I have just been for my six month cystoscopy check and there was a red patch abd what looked like a necrotic mass. I have had this necrotic mass for over a year but I have now been referred for TURBT. I was diagnosed in 2020 with g2 pta tcc low grade non invasive cancer and had a recurrance in 2021 with g1 pta. I am really worried. Has anyone else experienced this ? Thanks in advance Margaret

  • Hi  and welcome to this friendly and supportive group. The subject of red patches comes up regularly on here and in most cases turns out to be a form of inflammation. I have had this several times over the years and it turned out to e nothing. I have also had what was described as necrotic mass. I was told this was just dead tissue. During the TURBT they should scrape this away to make sure there is nothing going on underneath. I hope it goes well for you. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Hi  . I don't Know if it can come back. I was just told it was a residue from a previous TURBT. Best wishes.

  • Hi Margaret,

Welcome to this group. I can't comment on the Necrotic mass, never heard of this before.

However on my last cystcopy I also had red patches which turned out to be nothing more than inflammation issues caused by the BCG.

They did take biopsies from the patches directly I was told.

I've also red on here about others having red patches and all being well with them also.

    Take care.
