Constant pain

I’m on my 4th lot of treatment but I’ve had pain on urinating ever since I had my tumour removed. I keep telling my nurse but no one seems to be taking me seriously. I also find it hard that I seem to be in the minority as a woman with this diagnosis. At my clinic there is no actual poster information for women with this problem only men? Are there any women out there with the same problem as me ?

  • Hi PEW,I’m so sorry you are in so much pain.I didn’t have BCG treatment but had over 30 years of Interstitial cystitis which caused terrible pain. There are several women on here and a few who have been or are going through BCG so you are not alone. Are you drinking enough fluids ? If you don’t drink enough that can cause irritation in the bladder. The more acidic the urine the worse the pain will be.I used to find certain foods made the pain worse so cut out onions, tomatoes and anything citrus.I found pear juice soothing.I don’t know whether these changes would help in a bladder undergoing BCG treatment though.Hopefully someone with BCG experience will be along to advise you.I went straight to bladder removal so not much help to you.Love Jane x
