Safe to have a cystoscopy when you have bladder inflammation?

Hi, 

I had inflammation and discomfort before my last cystcopy, I mentioned it to the consultant but it still went ahead and biopsies were taken. I thought it might be cancelled also.

I was tested for a UTI before at the pre assessment and also on the day and came back clear, and they weren't concerned.

Afterwards they said it was quite inflamed, but it actually seemed to improve after the cystcopy, which is bizarre...

Best of luck for 3rd June if it does go ahead.

Hi,I had a very inflamed bladder for 34 years and had cystoscopies every 3 months at one time.Infection is more of a worry with cystoscopy.I was asked to cancel when I had a urine infection.I hope it all goes well.Best wishes Jane 

At my last cystoscopy a couple of weeks ago, they showed me inflammation in the bladder from the last TURBT in late November but advised not a problem. Next set of  3xBCG's booked for June.

I was told it’s because of the risk of sepsis.Jane
