Hi All
Dad has Muscle invasive bladder cancer and he had to have a nephrostomy bag as it spread into his ureters tubes.
It has been some what of a roller coaster, we was told he would have months, then to days hours and now we are here two months later where he has been able to have Radiotherapy. It was three weeks ago since he had radiotherapy and the last two weeks he has been painfully tired is this normal? Also he was given Oramorph which he has since decided to come off as this was causing even more tiredness, he would sit there and just stare into space.
I just wanted to know if this is normal to feel so tired after Radiotherapy and how long can it last?
Thank you for taking the time to read my message.
Hi Prindos . I felt pretty much the same after my RT finished. Fatigue is not like normal tiredness. It feels as though someone has stuck a pin in you and let all the air out. When these bouts of fatigue came over me I had to curl up on the couch and wait for it to pass. It gradually got less and less over about 3 weeks. It does sound normal what your Dad is going through, but always best to check with the medics to make sure nothing else is going on. Best wishes.
