A question for “BCG” experts. I am currently on the BCG induction course. I feel whacked with BCG flu like side effects for about 36 hours after the treatment, but also have founts of fatigue after that. They come and go sort of randomly - sometimes I am fine, others I feel knackered. Is this normal? Cheers,
Leo
Hi Leo,
Certainly not an expert, but the BCG treatment is draining. For me it's about 24 Hours, but mainly because of all the weeing, urgency and waking up during the night.
I did get flu like shivers one night. I did mention it to my nurse at the next session and was told that I should have phoned up to check for a UTI.
I personally think the whole process mentally and physically draining, so fatigue can be expected, but by the sounds of it (from my nurse) flu like symptoms can mean a UTI.
I hope you feel better soon.
Trevor
It is a bit knackering for sure. I'm fortunate to work from home, not sure if I could handle the 90 commutes after the BCG for a while.
I can't imagine people going back to work the next day or so, but I guess people have different experiences.
I'm at 6 monthly intervals now, so glad for the break for sure. It does go by quickly thinking back ( doesn't at the time).
Hope things pick up soon for you.
