I had a TURBT on 15th December, and CT scan a few days before that. How long does one generally have to wait for histology results, staging , CT scan interpretation MDT readout and proposed treatment options? I am in the Welsh region.
I am quite an impatient person
thanks
Leo
Hi Leo1 that is great news and must be a relief to you.
the awful thing about all this worrying is it is really draining and feels like a huge weight to carry round. The reality is i suppose, the worry doesn't change the result. I keep saying to myself, ‘ thoughts aren't facts Angela’ it helps a little.
please god we both get good news soon

Hi Leo1 , I had my results today showing atypical cells. She said it was not a recurrence of bladder tumour. Cried with relief.
Will you be at the MDT meeting?
I recall my 1st turbt, after the original diagnosis , but not graded, i felt fit to burst with worry. Everyone on here said i would feel more settled once I knew what i was up against and what the treatment plan was. They were right.
I wish you good luck and a good nights sleep. Fingers crossed you get a good result.

Hi Leo1 , i had no issues following the first turbt, drank plenty and it was stinging for a few hours but i expected that. My 2nd one to confirm the grading was just the same , I had no issues. I was awake during the surgery, had a spinal anaesthetic, so was able to chat to the consultant. As he finished the op he said , “in my experience that looks fine , original staging stands, of course we will wait for histology , but i think its good to go to bcg therapy, see you in 2 weeks for a chat “ and that was me coming down off the ceiling and relaxing knowing it wasnt muscle invasive.
Did you have pain and issues after the first one Leo ?

Thank you for your reply Angela, I had no pain only a little discomfort my problem started after the catheter was removed I managed to pass urine twice with no problem then nothing just the constant feeling of needing to go after a while they put a catheter in again and I was allowed home thats when I had problem with leaking and very unfomfortable feeling when sitting,
Hi GrannyM
Sorry to hear that. I do feel like I was lucky having heard a few stories of folk having problems post turbt. I hope yours are resolved now. I dont know what your diagnosis is Granny M or when you had surgery,
my story is in my profile if you want to check it out.
