TURBT the wait

Hi Leo, I am in manchester area and had turbt on november 29th for ? Recurrence. I am still waiting ! Labs not back yet I keep being told. When i first got diagnosed in April 23 I only had to wait 2 weeks for results and appointment( i think i was just lucky ) then i had 2nd turbt to make sure all tumour was removed and confirm the type and stage of tumour to decide which way treatment would go. Have a look at my portfolio for timeline so far. The waiting this time has been unbearable at times, but what can i do. Its not in my control, i just have to hope and pray.

I couldnt comment on the situation in wales , not sure what the normal waiting times are. Have you got a specialist urology nurse looking after you ? I hope all goes well for you and you hear soon. Keep in touch with the forum, they are a lovely bunch of people, always here to help.

Hi Leo1 . It usually takes 10-15 days to process the biopsies and similar for the CT analysis, but from then it all depends on the availability of your consultant. If you don't have a CNS, then always worth giving urology a ring to see if they have you on the list and just to give them a nudge.

I am doing the same tomorrow, the wait is killing me too. Going from optimism to doom in a heartbeat. Its just hard.

Angela, oh dear ! I really need to know if it’s muscle invasive. I am snow passing stuff from the scab I think, and pee. Is back to Rose. Ah well

Hi Leo1 , I had TURBT 19th December, they said 2-3 weeks for results but my biopsy results came back in 2 weeks. Unfortunately showed that mine was into the muscle. CT scan this morning to confirm if it has spread outside my bladder. Now waiting again!!! Lots of us are playing the waiting game in this forum and it never gets any easier I'm afraid. Try to think positive as worrying won't change the results.

Hi PurpleSparkle , tbh it has been so so difficult getting through xmas and new year not knowing if i have had a recurrence. I have spoken to CSN today and the results are still not back. They are going to escalate it today again, but she said it could be Thursday before they know anything. I don't know whether to be terrified or furious right now. They changed my consultant and I am wondering if something has gone awry. Sorry for the rant, you have enough of your own worries without me going on. One day at a time I suppose.

I at least heard today the the CT scan is clear except for the known lesion in the bladder. Good result as I was worried about that.
