Hello good people. I would have never thought I'd say these words, but I am glad i am starting my BCG treatment Thursday 5th August.
This would be the induction. More of them certainly to follow. I am saying this also for all those people who have only just been diagnosed and are in that horrible place that we all know because we have all been there. I was told on this forum that once you have the result from the biopsies (after the TURBT) and you have your treatment planned, your spirit goes into a much better place and you start living again. It is so true. So, please, hang in there. Chances are very high that your cancer is curable. The unknown, from the day of the diagnosis to the day of the lab results is the worse part.
Hopefully I won't have too many side effects from the treatment. But then, what is temporary pain and discomfort when that could give you a new lease of life?
I will keep you posted on my "BCG experience".
And remember during your darkest days: have faith in our excellent medical staff. Trust them and do as you are told!
Hi Marco. Good to know you are feeling a bit more upbeat. You now have something to focus on and know something positive is happening, and a goal to focus on. I never had the pleasure of BCG, But I am sure others will be along to share experiences. My medical care was second to none and I cannot thank the team enough. I hope all goes well. Best wishes.
So glad to hear you are feeling much more positive... I finished my 6 induction bcg treatments in April had my rigid cystoscopy July 13th all clear thankfully so I'm waiting for date to begin my 3 maintenance bcg treatments hopefully it will be soon .. I found the treatments ok burning for a few hours but not bad, I drank loads of water so make sure you do too ... I've got in the habit of drinking at least 2 litres of water daily now .. hope all goes well keep us up to date best wishes Tina
