Tomorrow at 18.15 (that's a weird time for an op start...) my TURBT should start... Not really worried about the op per se. I am very worried obviously for what they will find during the op and with the path.
I have been told that I will have a chat after the op with the consultant who performed it who will tell me how the op went... I hope I will know more by then...
Thanks,
A very anxious Marco.
Hi Marco. Going down at that time, it sounds as if they are doing a bit of catch up by laying on extra surgeries. The surgeon will have a chat before the op, and then you probably won't see them until the next day. You will wake up with a catheter in and that stays in until your urine runs clear. I didn't have a problem with it. I was in for four days and wasn't really given much information, other than it went well. They won't be able to tell you about the grade as this is done in the path lab. I hope all goes well. Best wishes.
Hi Marco. Yes, most people are out within 24 hours. In my case, they had to dig deep, so they had to keep me in. Two follow up TURBTs, I was out the same day with one and just an overnight with the other. Best wishes.
