Hi again,
I posted yesterday regarding bladder cancer which has led to secondary lung cancer in my father.
We have had an update today - he is to receive palliative chemotherapy.... Medication to help improve symptoms and chemo to slow down the spread. It's incurable, but the little bit of hope we have is that it is slightly controllable.
Does anybody have any experience with this? Any insights would be appreciated.
Hi . No personal experience, but know palliative care is not always as bad as it may sound. Palliative is to control symptoms and manage the illness. We have had people here receiving this care for many years. Hopefully someone will be along with some help and advice. Could I also suggest you call the Mac free helpline on 0808 808 0000. They will be able to let you know what help your father may be entitled to. Best wishes.
