Hello everyone I’m new here

My mum (78) is in hospital and we have just found out last week she has advanced BC staging at least T3b N2 with left pelvic malignant lymphadenopathy.

CT scan today revealed shadowing on the lungs I feel like my world has collapsed.  I had a little hope until this morning.

She  had to hear all these diagnosis alone in hospital without anyone to just give her a cuddle I am totally heartbroken

Not really sure what to expect now but just wanted to share my story.

Thank  you

  • Hello and welcome to the community, although sorry to hear about your mum. It must be really hard for you not being able to see her. Have they given mum any idea on what treatment they have planned? Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

    Hi

we have only been told to await a oncology appointment  but the impression I got  is if she wants to be put through treatment! which makes me think it’s likely to go towards palliative.

We are still waiting for the Doctor to speak to us directly.  We all just want her home and she is desperate to get out of hospital

  • So sorry such a terrible time for you .. ii hope she will be able to leave hospital and come home soon she needs to be feeling safe around her loved ones ..my mother was in hospital for a week we werent allowed to see her she must have been so afraid on her own with nobody she knew ..she had a cardiac arrest last night and passed away before we could get there ..so sad for everyone concerned the only consolation for me is she no longer has to live with the torment of alzeimers she had xx Cry  I hope things work out for you it is very hard for you xx covid has caused so much heartache for so many people Broken heart take care sending you love xx

Thank you I think she may be home today/tomorrow.  Then the next stage of palliative care begins.  Very scary to think about this.  X

So sorry to hear about your mum.  It’s so cruel that we can’t be with them at the moment in there most needy time.  Mums are everything and you think you will never lose them.

Thinking of you and take care x
