Hello! Has anyone tried using the above therapies post pelvic radiation to help with healing? I am 49 and keen to do what I can to support recovery... Willow26
Hello Willow26
No, I haven't but I am watching your post with interest; I think being proactive in this is a good thing, I didn't know quite what the affect of radiotherapy would be (and not forgetting not everyone has the same side effects).
So I am hoping that other forum members pick up on your post. Best of luck!

Hello Willow
My partner had this treatment in Hull.
He had a PFO which caused a stroke when he was diving, so not cancer.
He was in the chamber with cancer patients and people who had wound healing difficulties.
He had 2 sessions to get rid of nitrogen, not sure how long other patients spent in the chamber.
We had insurance, but the treatment would have been offered on the NHS. Not sure of the criteria for cancer patients.
I was reading your post regarding radiotherapy and the use of the Gamma machine. My hospital has one for brain cancer, but getting funding for other cancers is tricky (I am abroad).
Hope you are keeping.

Hi Willow26 , I’ll be following the responses to your post with great interest also as I’ve looked into several alternative therapies that may possibly help with the hip & back pain that has developed over time since my treatment that I suspect are late onset effects from the radiotherapy including infrared saunas, cryotherapy & was only reading last night about platelet rich plasma injections along with the extracorporeal shock wave therapy that Irene mentioned in her post a couple of days ago.

Hi Willow26 I do cryotheraphy as and when i have the money which makes me feel amazing, i havent tried the therapys you have mentioned but have heard good things about hyperbaric and red light and would like to do them. My hospital plugged hyperbaric in the radiotherapy waiting room. Will be interested to to hear if you have them and what you think. Xx
Hi, do you just get general cryotherapy or is there something more specialist I should be googling? Thanks!
I am also very keen to hear about reviews from people who have had these treatments. Thanks
Hi sp1993233875 its just general, i go in a cylinder with my head out, they turn it on for 3 minutes and thats it. The coldest ive done is -136. I always feel amazing after. X
