Hi
i finished my 5 week stint of chemo radiotherapy on Monday and was warned the soreness would get worse before it got better but nobody mentioned the discharge. I didn’t think of it either to be fair. Yes it is worse but the main problem is the smell! It’s awful!! Kind of bleachy and very runny. Is this normal or should I contact the nurses or my GP?
Hi Beccie - I would suggest tall to radiotherapy nurse specialist today - if you have a cancer care line use that or your treatment location. I had some discharge but no smell so can’t compare for you - But anything at all speak with them and tell them as some things happen and if you don’t share the weekend is here and it’s harder to get reassurance x

Hi Angie,
I believe you are passing the zapped tumour. I have no medical qualifications at all so could be talking rubbish but I did ask when I had these symptoms, and it did make sense.
Please check with your medical people though, just to be sure.

Hi Beccie
Well done for getting through it! And yes to discharge but the amount of chemo I had (I had six months systemic chemo prior to the chemo/radiotherapy) has done something to my sense of smell and I couldn't (and still can't) smell anything. But mention it to your treating team (rather than your GP), they can reassure you as most of us pass all sorts of things in the early days after treatment.
Hope you get an answer that puts your mind to rest.
Irene xx
