Hi everyone, My MRI scan has come in, I had my face to face appointment and she said NED. What a massive relief and I am at the moment on a high! In three months she said I go in for a consultation and if they feel I need a scan they will do one. After 12 months they do a full body scan. Thank you all for your lovely support. It shows even if you get the niggles and think it’s back it’s not always the case.
Hi Prettypinkroses. I hope that you are still doing well and thank you for your concern. I saw the colorectal surgeon on Wednesday and he decided that I didn't need to have a biopsy taken. He examined the tumour site instead and said he was confident that there is no cancer and it is just scar tissue. I asked why my oncologist had asked for a biopsy and he said that they always do this if they are not 100% sure, but in view of the fact that it is easy to access and examine, he felt this was unnecessary. I just have to put my trust in him and hope that he is right. As I am feeling so well now, I don't see any reason to doubt this. My appointment has already been booked for January to see the oncologist again so at least I will be monitored for any possible changes. There does seem to be a high success rate, and it's lovely to hear that the majority of us on this group are doing so well. Sending everyone best wishes and keeping fingers crossed that you all manage to beat this. Serena
