Hi all I wanted to share that I had my 3 month scan results just before Christmas and I have been told the treatment has worked! My consultant said it couldn't have gone any better. I have a scan booked in for March and know that the journey isn't completely over for me but for the moment I feel I can start relaxing a bit! It is a strange feeling I still have some side effects and panic a little when I get cramps or go to the toilet 5 times in a day but I know that's part of the course. For those of you who have just had a diagnosis or just starting treatment hang on in there. I was advanced stage 3 and really thought I would need surgery but at the moment that isn't necessary. Who knows what the future brings but today I am cancer free and so grateful to the NHS, my cancer team and this forum x
Hi PollyH,
What wonderful news and am delighted for you! A good start to 2026.
So good for others starting out on treatment to hear too.
Wishing you well for ongoing improvement of your side effects ( they do improve in time) and hope that this year will have many good things in store for you to look ahead to.
Big congratulatory hug xxx
Hello PollyH
That is absolutely wonderful news, I am so happy to hear it! And it must have given you such a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
And don't be at all surprised if you develop strange new aches and pains prior to your scans in March - it happens to me every time a scan is looming and I am always so shocked when the doctor says everything is fine! Our minds play cruel tricks sometimes.
And I hope your loo symptoms improve too, it is still early days for you.
Irene xx
Excellent news Polly, that is very encouraging, as I start my treatment tomorrow of combined radio and chemo, nervous, but just want to get on with it and hope for the best.
I have found this forum very encouraging and supportive, thank you
So pleased and I wish you well for your continued recovery.
Hi Mags
Good luck with the treatment and do use the forum I have found it ao useful. I am only 4 months post treatment and it doesnt seem that long ago that I had my diagnosis and was waiting for my first treatment. Its a nerve wracking time every step of the way. I hope I can give you some reassurance that whilst its not an easy ride the treatment is very successful. Apart from a few niggles I feel better than I have for a very long time.
Big hugs
X
Hi Irene
